Join Us for a Day of Celebrations at the Zoo and Greenwood Community Park!

Mark your calendars for a day of excitement and community fun as we host three special ribbon-cutting ceremonies to unveil new features at the Zoo Entry Building, Bayou Promenade, and Greenwood Community Park Adventure Playground. Enjoy live music, interactive activities, and much more throughout the day. Here’s what you can look forward to:

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Zoo Entry Building – 10:30 a.m. Kick off the day with us as we unveil the newly enhanced Zoo Entry Building, complete with a new entry building and a captivating giraffe exhibit. Arrive early to enjoy live music, meet your favorite characters, and strike a pose at our photo booth from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Be among the first 54 visitors and receive a free zoo pass! The official ribbon cutting will take place at 10:30 a.m.

*Please note, the zoo entrance is moving from the old address off Thomas Road to the new location at 3000 Zoo Circle via 1350 Highway 19, Baker, opening on October 5th. Make sure to use the new entry point for all future visits starting on October 5th.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Bayou Promenade – 1:30 p.m. Continue the celebrations with an afternoon of fun on the Bayou Promenade. From 12:30-2:30 p.m., enjoy live performances, interactive activities, and delicious treats from a local food truck. Capture the moment with photo opportunities along the promenade. The ribbon cutting ceremony will commence at 1:30 p.m.

Ribbon Cutting at the Greenwood Community Park Adventure Playground – 4:30 p.m. Wrap up the day with us at the Greenwood Community Park Adventure Playground. Starting at 3:30 p.m., dive into a world of fun with live music, interactive entertainment, and a mock ribbon cutting station where everyone can join in on the excitement. The official ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m.
